Ladies’ Fair Isle technique hat and fingerless mittens set. The mittens are sized for warmth + access, covering all but the fingertips. Suitable for intermediate knitters familiar with Fair Isle knitting and working from charts

GAUGE: 32 sts and 36 rows = 4” / 10cm in stranded stockinette stitch.

NEEDLES: If you knit loosely, try US size 1½ / 2.5mm for the trim and US size 2 / 2.75mm for the main sections. If you knit tightly, try US size 2 / 2.75mm for the trim and US size 2½ / 3.0mm for the main section.

YARN: Six 25g balls of Jamieson's Shetland Spindrift  100% Shetland wool fingering / jumper weight yarn, 115 yds / 105 m per ball:

Two 25g balls of the background color (Shaela, a charcoal grey) PLUS

One 25g ball of each of the four accent colors (Ginger, Scotch Broom, Caspian & Eesit, as shown.)
