Rosalia Knitting Pattern PDF

$8.00

A ladies’ kimono-inspired jacket worked in Fair Isle-style stranded color work with machine-sewn steeks, duplicate stitch accents and wide contrasting, cabled borders. Sizes: 36 1/2", 44" and 51 1/4' finished. Five different colors have been used in this design. Charts and instructions for 3 different sleeve lengths - bracelet, 3/4ths (shown) and short - are provided in the pattern. You can further refine your sleeve length by including or omitting the solid-colored stripes at the sleeve tops. All sleeve lengths are independent of the 3 chest sizes, so you can really customize your jacket’s size to fit your own preferences.

Working the duplicate stitch embroidery on the large motifs, on the back and at the sleeve tops, is optional. The embroidery on the original was done with doubled strands of the same yarn used elsewhere in the sweater, but you could use all sorts of different yarns and different embroidery stitches to get interesting effects. However, Rosalia looks nice done in just the 2 main colors, too.

GAUGE: 24 sts and 25 rows = 4” / 10cm in stranded stockinette stitch

NEEDLES: Size 4 US / 3.5 mm for main portion;

Size 7 US / 4.5 mm, Size 3 US / 3.25 mm and Size 2 US / 3 mm for trim and steeks.

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

YARN: Samples shown were knit in sport / DK weight Dale Garn Falk (blue and fuchsia version) and Dale Garn Heilo (grey and blue version) , both of which are no longer available in the US. Alternatively, you can use many different sport weight yarns which knit at a similar gauge.
