Unisex Fair Isle / Norwegian style adult-sized ski hat with trees, snowflakes and plaited trim that’s knit as you go. (It’s much easier than it looks!) UPDATE, October 2019: Since the Timbers Hat was knit in yarn that was discontinued quite a while ago (see the white + brown version in the photos), I’ve reworked it in some wonderful Jamieson’s Shetland Heather Aran (blue version) and updated the pattern to conform to the style I’ve developed over the years since I first published Timbers Hat, waaaaaay back in ‘06. Finished circumference is approximately 20 1/4” / 53 cm.

GAUGE: 19 sts and 20 rows over 4” / 10cm

NEEDLES: We recommend US #8 / 5 mm, but as always, use whatever size you need to achieve the given gauge.

YARN: Two different-colored 50g balls of Jamieson’s Shetland Heather Aran 100% Shetland wool aran weight yarn.
